MAMA-KANGAROO 546
Mrs. Branka, thanks to you I’ve prepared myself physically and psychologically for my third childbirth. It is not easy to read everything these women write about and stay calm for nine months. I’ve given birth twice in Smederevska Palanka. It was so awful, I don’t even wish to remember. I’ve decided to have my third child in the hospital “Narodni front” in Belgrade. And this is how it happened. I gave birth on June 16th 2009. I remember this as the most beautiful thing in my life. I had my own physician, my own anesthesiologist and my own room. Everything was more than good. Off course, you have to pay in order for everything to go well. Everyone is more than kind on the floor with private rooms. They’re simply “dancing” around you. They were addressing me with respect and called me “Mrs.”. Unbelievable but true. But, the twelve hours I spent on the third floor waiting for my private room were terrible. First of all, it was horribly dirty. There were cobwebs everywhere in a three-bedded room. The staff were unkind. Nurses were nowhere to be found. They would appear and start running around only when it was time for doctor’s round. I had to underline whose patient I was in order to be examined. It was disastrous, disastrous! So, Mrs. Branka, you are right. The corruption in our maternity hospitals is enormous. You have to pay well in order to be treated well. Regards!
